Rob joined Bechtel in 2011 as performance and active risk manager for OG&C’s Procurement Joint Execution Team in support of the Curtis Island Liquefied Natural Gas construction projects in Australia.He was then assigned as a Deputy Project Manager for Keystone – XL’s Phase 3 pipeline facilities construction effort during 2013. In February 2014, he became senior project manager for Keystone – XL pipeline projects. Prior to joining Bechtel, Rob served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 21 years.

He joined Baker Hughes in 2008 from WellDynamics where he served as Chief Executive Officer. His oil and gas career also includes Shell Exploration & Production and Wood Group in the United Kingdom. Mathieson earned a Ph.D. in micro electro-mechanical systems, a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronic engineering and was recently awarded an honorary doctorate in engineering all from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland. He is a chartered engineer with the United Kingdom Engineering Council, a member of the Institute of Engineering and Technology and an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
