Save the Children: Nepal Earthquake Children's Relief Fund!

Every quarter, BTS USA donates to a qualified non-profit. Following the news regarding the Nepal Earthquake, BTS USA chose 'Save the Children: Nepal Earthquake Children's Relief Fund' as their Q1 2015 charity.

Save the Children continues to respond to the Nepal earthquakes while relief workers administer aid, building on nearly four decades of work in the impoverished country. Despite this, rescue workers and staff encounter more children in need of help as they reach battered villages and communities.

More about Save the Children and their work in Nepal:

Save the Children has worked in Nepal since 1976 and has extensive programs throughout the country. Nepal boasts eight of the world's 10 highest mountains, including Mount Everest, yet also has the flat river plain of the Ganges on its southern border with India. Poverty and a decade of violent political instability have taken a toll on the Nepalese people. Most families live in remote rural areas on the plains and others living in scattered settlements in the hills and mountains.

On April 25, 2015 a magnitude-7.9 earthquake hit Nepal, just 50 miles from the capitol, Katmandu. It caused untold devastation, killing over 9,000 people and injuring another 17,000 - including many children.

Thanks to the support from partners and donors, Save the Children was well prepared to respond. The organization’s teams were able to reach more than 127,000 people, including 76,000 children, providing vital aid.
