BTS Singapore Hosts Melbourne Business School

January, 2017

In January 2017, BTS Singapore hosted a number of students for the Global Business Practicum, a program through Melbourne Business School, which allows students to experience the unique practices of an international company first hand. In the past, BTS has partnered with the Melbourne Business School to support different social impact efforts.

The Global Business Practicum (GBP) is a two-week work project undertaken by high-achieving early career and specialist Master students at an overseas host organization. During the program, teams of students apply what they’ve learned, addressing real-world business issues. Starting in 2008, hundreds of students have successfully completed projects in organizations across Asia. Previous partners include PWC, Melco Crown, Adecco, Bloomberg, KPMG, Bayer and many more.

BTS Singapore received the opportunity to host one of the teams, and feedback from BTSers involved was overwhelmingly positive. “It was great to gain a new perspective and definitely helped the team with a lot of research," said Laura Zaccaria, Senior Consultant in the Singapore office. The team’s project, titled “The Future of Banking Technology and Operations,” was presented to the BTS Singapore Office. Through their research, the GBP team concluded that preparing technology and operations people for the future required leaders who could unlock the value of digitization, create adaptable and agile structures, and provide an environment where people could acquire new skills and collaborate.

The BTS Shanghai office hosted a team of their own in June 2017.
