April 3, 2013 - Stamford, Ct. - BTS, a world leading strategy implementation firm, is helping facilitate the Forté Foundation’s 2013 College Leadership Launch for Women
on Saturday April 6, in Washington, D.C. With women comprising only 37% of MBA programs worldwide, this event aims to inspire the college students in attendance to pursue positions of management in business. The one-day event will include a high impact BTS business simulation
experience to challenge and engage participants and develop their business and financial acumen. The event will feature speakers and coaches from BTS
, Citi, Cognizant, Deloitte, Deutsche Bank and PNC.
“We are proud to support the Forté Foundation in their goal of increasing the number of women pursuing careers in business,” said Jonas Akerman, president BTS USA. “It’s an important step forward and BTS is committed to finding the best employees which means expanding a pool that has, to date, been underrepresented by women.”
The students at the event will compete in a customized version of BTS’ The World of Work™, a team based activity designed to teach participants about corporate strategy. The teams will manage fictional corporations and have the opportunity to implement a variety of strategic initiatives designed to spur revenue growth, manage costs, develop talent, and more, with the ultimate goal of delivering shareholder value. During the program participants will experience various senior roles in finance, marketing, R&D, and other key functions.
“This is a great event, not only will we show these women how intense and interesting corporate strategy can be, but five BTS consultants, one a Forté scholar herself, will be speaking at the session and inspiring attendees to explore and pursue their passions in business, as they did,” said Joyce Petrella, VP, Human Resources & Talent Management.
This is the first event of its kind by the Forté Foundation, which aims to inspire women to pursue MBA degrees, providing role-model leadership and coaching as well as support with the MBA application process to encourage the pursuit of business careers. College Leadership Launch attendees were selected based on applications assessing academic achievement and leadership experience. About Forté Foundation
