Savings Banks Foundation for International Cooperation
The Savings Banks Foundation for International Cooperation is a non-profit organization, founded in Germany over 200 years ago, whose main objective is to strengthen local and regional financial structures, to not only generate development opportunities for wide sections of the population and local companies but also help create jobs and income.
As of 2019, BTS and SBFIC have rolled out three solutions together: Get to know your numbers launched in 2010, The Savings Game launched in 2015, and The Farmers Finance Game launched in 2017. As of December 2017, 725 seminars were held globally, reaching more than 64,000 participants in 12 countries.
As a part of their efforts to eradicate poverty, Hand in Hand helps women start their own businesses. Those efforts are facilitated by a customized business simulation focused on business literacy developed with BTS, called The Citizen Centre.
